1996, cl@se is the first pan-regional educational television channel available in Latin America. Its
programming is aimed at students, teachers and parents, and covers a wide range of subjects,
including foreign languages, science, culture, mathematics and continuing education. The Fundación
Cisneros and Venevisión Continental facilitate cl@se’s distribution through collaborative agreements
signed with educational institutions and telecommunication companies in Latin America. Through
the production and broadcast of educational content in the areas of culture, and teacher training,
cl@se complements the initiatives of the Fundación Cisneros. It employs the latest technologies to
offer learning opportunities and tools to the educational community in Latin America. Cl@se
currently reaches 30,000 public schools in Costa Rica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic, and holds
an agreement to reach 8,000 schools in Peru.
